Have you ever compared yourself to someone else, and felt a little less than because of it? We must not look at other people’s accomplishments and allow their success to negate our attempts. Let’s talk real quick about why we shouldn’t compare ourselves to other people, and why we should allow our passion for something to be what drive us.
It’s so easy to sit on the couch and watch other people live out awesome lives. We live in a culture that is completely driven around WATCHING other people. We give so much time to things that don’t matter. I believe you aren’t just here to consume; your life was meant to give, to make a difference and to make the world a better place.
“How can this person be so stupid”, you think. So many thoughts are racing through your head. You make eye contact with the person across the table, and raise one eyebrow slightly because you’re both thinking the same thing. It’s obvious what they need to do, and it’s BEYOND you why they can’t see it. You’ve held it in long enough … it’s time … and out comes it comes … your opinion.
If it is worth doing, it is worth doing well. What if you applied this mindset to everything in your life? When this principle is applied firmly, you will see very clearly what’s worth doing, and what you’re spinning your wheels on that needs to be given up.
